Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes, Pray for us

From: Glenn Kehs
Sent: Saturday, December 18, 2010 7:40 PM

Hello, Could you please put Liz Kehs back on the prayer list? She has had two back operations in the past week. The first operation caused a fracture that resulted in nerve injury. The second operation was done to fix the fracture. She is still in a lot of pain, and her left leg is weak. Please pray for her to recover from this. Thank you and God bless you, Glenn Kehs

Prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes,,

Oh ever immaculate Virgin, Mother of Mercy, Health of the Sick, Refuge of Sinners, Comfortess of the Afflicted, you know our wants, our troubles, our sufferings. Look upon us with mercy. When you appeared in the grotto of Lourdes, you made it a privileged sanctuary where you dispense your favors, and where many sufferers have obtained the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal. We come, therefore, with unbounded confidence to implore your maternal intercession. Our loving Mother, obtain our request. We will try to imitate your virtues so that we may one day share your company and bless you in eternity. Amen.+

St. Joseph, Patron of Holy Death

From: Dave Burgess
Sent: Sunday, November 28, 2010

God Bless my father-in-law, Ronald C. Liggett, who passed away this afternoon, just a couple hours after we left to return home. I am so honored and proud to have known a great Marine who was twice wounded during the Korea War. His biggest feat wasn't surviving the war; it was being part of a wonderful duet that brought forth into this world my wife. Thank you "Dad" for your service and thank you for raising such a wonderful daughter. May your soul enjoy eternal peace and rest in the company of our Lord.

Thank you for your Prayers,
Dave Burgess

________________________________________

Ron Liggett was a very giving person.

St. Martin, a Roman soldier, while on horseback in Amiens in Gaul (modern France), he encountered a beggar. Having nothing to give but the clothes on his back, he cut his heavy officer's cloak in half, and gave it to the beggar. Later he had a vision of Christ wearing the cloak.

St. Martin, pray for Ron and all of us.

Prayer to Saint Joseph for a Holy Death, ,
O Blessed Joseph, you gave your last breath in the loving embrace of Jesus and Mary. When the seal of death shall close my life, come with Jesus and Mary to aid me. St. Beuno Gasulsych,
A patron for sick children

From: Beth Schloemer
Sent: Monday, November 22, 2010 10:25 AM

My sister Megan had her first baby, Caleb, 2 months ago. Caleb was born with VACTERL Association. He has several anomalies, some of which can be fixed, others cannot. Caleb is at the Pediatric for Sick Children in DC. Caleb has severe scoliosis which is preventing one of his lungs from working right now. The goal for now is that Caleb can breathe better on his own so that he can go home...that would be a lovely Christmas gift! So, please pray for Megan and Andrew, that they continue to trust that God's hand is in all of this, for the doctors, and especially for Caleb.

Thank you. Beth

Prayer for a Sick Child,
Heavenly Father, watch with us over your child Caleb, and grant that he may be restored to that perfect health which it is yours alone to give; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen+

Just wanted to let you all know. Jim's father, James F. McGuire, passed away a little while ago. He died peacefully, surrounded by family, and with Jim's hand resting on his chest. Please keep the McGuire family in your thoughts and prayers. We celebrated his 82nd birthday in the hospital yesterday surrounded by many of his 8 children, 23 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was blessed to get a special visit from the bishop yesterday!!! He would have been so proud. He was very loved by all that had the privilege of knowing him.

Saint Teresa of Avila,
A patron for the Sick

From: Steve and Reen Markland
Sent: Sunday, November 07, 2010 9:41 PM

My godchild, Kaitlin is hanging on by a thread with a rare clotting disorder that has reduced her liver function to almost none. I pray for acceptance of God's will and that Kaitlin's parents and others who love her so dearly will be comforted by their faith and trust in the plans of our loving and ever-present God.

Additionally, I ask for prayers of healing for my best friend, Kathy, who has just been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Offer prayers of gratitude for the early diagnosis which resulted from biopsies during an endoscopy to check on her reflux symptoms.

Thanks for your support through prayer. It means so much. Reen Markland

Prayer of Complete Trust in God,
O kind and merciful God, in Your Hands we place our hopes and fears, our likes and dislikes, our happiness and unhappiness, our joys and sorrows. We offer You the needs of our perishable bodies and the more important ones of our imperishable souls. We do not have to be afraid for our souls as long as we leave them in Your loving care.

You are our Father and our God, the ground of our salvation. You are our gracious and loving Father, and we are Your beloved children. We cast ourselves in Your Arms and ask for Your blessings. We place all our trust in You and we know that we will not be confounded. Amen+.

Saint Pancras of Rome, Patron of Head Ailments

From: Susan Hoffman
Sent: Monday, September 20, 2010 6:59 PM

Please pray for Kathy Hamlin, our daughter-in-law Leah's mother. She is in North Carolina visiting her parents and suffered a brain aneurysm early this morning, CAT scan shows 2 areas of clots. Doctors said she is very lucky to have survived.

Leah is due to give birth on Thursday and now will not have her mother with her, or her brother who left this afternoon for NC to be with their mother. Please pray for Kathy, Leah, her family and friends and the medical community that will help bring Kathy back to Leah, healthy again. thank you.

Update: She is out of surgery just now, the surgeon preformed an angioplasty, everything appears to have gone well. The surgeon placed two "coils" at the clot sites, though these can cause an issue so right now they are in wait and see mode. As she wakes up from her anesthesia they will know if any neurological damage was done by either the aneurysms or the surgery. For now, we can breathe a bit easier and just continue to pray for her. At this point they say she will be in ICU for several days and in the hospital for up to a 7-10 days. She will then be discharged to her parents home for care.

Thanks for your help with this and pray.

My daughter, Tessa, suffered four days of severe, uncontrolled seizures during which she lost the ability to reason or to recognize close family and friends. Thank you, from the bottom of my grateful heart.

I just thought I would pass on some good news to you.

Back in May, I asked you to add my daughter, Tessa to the prayer list. She was in the hospital with uncontrolled seizures and unexplained psychosis and the situation wasn't looking good. Afterwards, I attributed her near-miraculous recovery to the power of prayer.

I have since come to learn that there was nothing "near" about the miracle Tessa experienced. The condition Tessa was in is Non-Convulsive or Sub-Clinical Status Epilepticus, and I'm terribly glad that the doctors shielded us at the time from full knowledge of the condition. She is blessed that we got a hold of it and even more blessed that there were no lasting effects. That in itself, as I understand it, is a miracle. Since then, however, Tessa has been seizure free for eight months. This is the longest that her brain has operated normally since 2002. That's another miracle.

Your ministry of prayer isn't just the only thing you can do for friends and family in need; it's the best thing you can do. Thank you for the contribution you made to our family. We have indeed been blessed by it.

Best wishes,
Lisa Anthony-Price

Please send out to the partners:

Kindly pray for Victoria, Joe and their unborn daughter, Mary Clare. Victoria is presently at the hospital. Mary Clare has some significant health issues which were recently identified. These have contributed to Victoria's body going into early labor. They request prayers at this time and that people respect their privacy as they await the will of God.

O Saint Catherine of Siena, God our Father enkindled the flame of holy love in your heart as you meditated on the Passion of Jesus His Son. Moved by His grace, you devoted your life to the poor and the sick, as well as to the peace and unity of the Church. Through your intercession, may we also come to know the love of Jesus, bring His compassion to all, and work for the unity of His Church. We ask this in Jesus' Name and for His sake. Amen+.

Act of Conformity to God's Will,

O my God, we do not know what will happen today, but it is enough for us to know and to believe that nothing will happen to us that is not permitted by You from all eternity for our greater good.

We adore Your holy and eternal dispositions. We surrender ourselves with all our hearts to Your fatherly love. We make of everything a loving sacrifice in union with that of our Divine Savior.

We ask, in His Name and through the merits of His Passion, the grace of patience and perfect submission to You in all our sufferings, so that whatever You permit to happen may be for Your greater glory and our sanctification. Amen+.

St. Joseph, Patron of Holy Death

From: Annette McCracken
Sent: Monday, May 03, 2010 11:11 PM

My father, Raymond Henry, passed away this morning (May 3, 2010) from cancer. We are thankful that his suffering is now over, and pray that he joins my mother, as well as his "birthday buddy" (our son, John) in God's heavenly kingdom.

My father was the person who truly ignited my faith. When I was growing up, he was very active in our parish. He was a lector, eucharistic minister, and especially enjoyed taking communion & visiting with the "shut-ins". He attended many retreats, participated in the March for Life, served on many parish committees, and considered becoming a deacon. His faith and service to the Church inspired me along my early spiritual journey. I am so thankful to him for giving me the gift of my faith, and truly teaching by example.

Regards,

Annette McCracken

Prayer to Saint Joseph for a Holy Death, O Blessed Joseph, you gave your last breath in the loving embrace of Jesus and Mary. When the seal of death shall close my life, come with Jesus and Mary to aid me. Obtain for me this solace for that hour - to die with their holy arms around me. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I commend my soul, living and dying, into your sacred arms. Amen.

Prayer of Solace
May Christ support us all the day long,
till the shadows lengthen,
and the evening comes,
and the busy world is hushed,
and the fever of life is over
and our work is done.
Then in his mercy
may he give us a safe lodging,
and holy rest and peace at the last.

Saint Gaetano Errico
Patron for the Sick

From: Susan Hoffman
Sent: March 21, 2010 2:53

A dear friend of mine is asking for much needed prayer for her granddaughter, Katie Vanover-Franzman. After suffering a torn muscle in her chest, they have found her chest full of infection and surgery was required to clean it out, the surgeon had to cut from just below the neck all the way down her abdominal area and across. Now her liver seems to be affected by this and more testing and medications are needed. All she wants to do is go home to her baby and she and her family are scared. Please pray that she is healed and home with her family soon.

Susan

Saint Gaetano Errico
His beatification miracle occurred in southern Italy in January 1952 and involved a man with a perforated stomach wall. Just before emergency surgery, his wife slipped a relic of Father Gaetano under his pillow, and together they prayed for his intercession. His health began to improve immediately, and he was soon healed without medical intervention. +

Strengthen your servant Katie, O God, to do what she has to do and bear what she has to bear; that, accepting your healing gifts through the skill of surgeons and nurses, she may be restored to usefulness in your world with a thankful heart; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.+

Please pray for me. I have been suffering complications from bronchitis for several months. I have just been diagnosed with fluid on my right lung on which I had lung cancer surgery 20 years ago. I will undergo a pulmonary procedure Monday March 21 to remove fluid and have it biopsied.

Thank you
Leona Choy

Prayer to the Sacred Heart for the Sick

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place into Your Hands, wounded out of love for us, all those we know and love who are ill, injured or in need of Your healing touch in any way. We remember those who are at home and those in hospitals and nursing homes, those who are recovering slowly, those who are lonely or afraid. Be with them all, most loving Jesus, especially Leona Choy for whom we now pray.

Lord Jesus, please send Your Mother Mary to be with Leona in her time of need. May she who knew life's sorrow and pain in her own heart, console her with the joy of her Immaculate Heart now reigning with You in heaven.

In Your wisdom, Lord, increase in her Your gifts of Faith in Your Church, Hope in Everlasting Life, and Love both forgiving and peace-giving. If it is Your will, restore her to fullness of health and strength. And bring all of us home at last together with Mary and all Your Saints. Amen.+

Dear Family-and others who have been concerned: March 22, 2010
You didn't hear from me sooner because I was waiting for the results myself from the Thoracentesis and my subsequent CT scan at the Imaging Center. The delay provided me with a longer opportunity to develop patience and to exercise our trust in God.

Finally just today I had an appointment both with my allergist for new testing for sensitivities and with my primary physician for the consultation about the findings.

To get to the bottom line first and skip too much medical terminology, the pulmonary doctor removed more than a litre of fluid from my right lung. That is the one on which I had cancer surgery nearly 20 years ago when 1/3 of my lung was removed. The lab analysis indicate no cancer cells present. No obvious findings for recurrent or progressive disease.THANK GOD!

My doctor would not commit himself-said that possibly I did have pneumonia which developed from complications from bronchitis. There could be allergic factors and possibly asthma, but that he really wasn't sure.

I am now well on the road to recovery since the fluid was removed; I'm much improved. No wonder I had been feeling so ill, weak, and congested for several months without relief. My doctor ordered a follow-up chest X-Ray in 4 weeks. The best news is no cancer recurrence! Rejoice with me!

Thank you to all my caring family and friends who phoned, e-mailed, sent cards, hugged me, and offered help, but most of all who prayed for God's will to be done. And thank you Father Dobbins for anointing me for healing. Thanks to my special faithful intercessors who I call my "Praying Eagles." When any of us has a need for God's touch, the rest of us quickly spread our prayer wings, rally around and lift him/her to God.

Let's all keep living in the present moment, gratefully celebrating each day as a generous gift from God, and investing our time for His Kingdom as long as He gives us breath and opportunity.

Love, and reciprocal prayers for you and your needs,
Mom/Grandma Bubi/Great Grandma, and friend Leona-whoever I am to you!/

The tentative plans are for:wake, Thursday, 5-9 p,m. and funeral 1pm Friday. Plans were pretty well taken care of....Jill new what she wanted. I can just see her joyously dancing around with their decased baby, Shawn, and Fran and Ray Riding and all the people who loved her.

Love, Maureen

I heard from my sister that a cousin of ours wife is in critical condition from burn injuries. Tommy Jewel and his wife Phyllis live in the Hampton Roads area. Their house caught fire. Tommy was away at work. His wife Phyllis was injured when, I assume, she went into the burning house to try to save some things. That's when she received her critical injuries. She's in real bad shape.

Tommy's daughter Marie wrote on her Facebook page about her stepmother's condition, "Dad took her off the ventilator Thursday night, so we're waiting for nature to take its course. She has fourth degree burns on both legs so even if she was to survive, she would lose both legs and be in severe pain. We all do not want that for her. Now we just pray that she passes peacefully. Thanks for all your support and prayers!"

Phyllis is 67 years old. The link below shows the house going up in flames and it is easy to see how she would have been injured.

Please pray for Phyllis and her family.

O Glorious Saint John, you were so loved by Jesus that you merited to rest your head upon his breast, and to be left in his place as a son to Mary. Obtain for us an ardent love for Jesus and Mary. Let us be united with them now on earth and forever after in heaven. Amen.

For Recovery from Sickness
O God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers: Mercifully accept our prayers, and grant to your servant Phyllis the help of your power, that her injuries may be turned into health, and her sorrow into joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
